'Kay, so today I went with a girl to see the new Harry Potter movie, also known as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It wasn't bad. Of course, they had replaced the dragon with a wyvern, but as the wyvern was quite cool (for a biped) that was okay. They kind of skipped a lot of stuff that I would guess are necessary for the movie to make sense, so I think it's not easy to really comprehend the plot unless you've read the book. But, hey!, unless you are
smilingbeef chances are you have, so what's the problem, right? The movie was in many ways a 'highlights of' thing.
This digresses me to my next point which is this: you know how when you go to musicals or, I presume, operas you get this booklet if you pay an extra ten quid that contains the plot outline. Then the show can focus on singing and whatnot, and the viewer can get the plot from reading the booklet while listening. So, I was thinking, why not do this with movies? You'd have some awesome dialogue, spectacular special effects, but you have the actual plot explained in the booklet. This also gets rid of the problem with 'who's that guy? why did he kill the other guy? I thought he died in the beginning of the movie?' questions, as all those can be answered by looking through the booklet much more efficiently than by asking the person next to you. Everybody wins!
