On complexity
A cybernetic system designed with high latency, high rigidity and long relaxation time isn't going to function.
The kludges should've been replaced by a modernized actual system long ago. But worship of the past prevented that.
Most nations update their constitution fairly often to reflect new circumstances. Even the Framers expected this. Yet we act like this document was Holy Writ.
Of course the real reason is the system was skewed to favor the rich and powerful and those want to keep it that way. They think they can force it even more in their favor. Instead they will get more instability and collapse.
Complexity theory states that when the system cannot handle complexity it collapses, usually to the benefit of the bottom. This system will not handle the complexity. It will collapse and quickly. This is suicide but the folks pushing this are too blinded by ideology to see it.
