Yesterday I was outlining my 2021 Summergen fic, and was trying to remember which of my fics I'd written for Summergen previously. I ended up having to go look them up, lol. But looking back on these as a set, omg I'm so proud of them

Aw, thank you. <333 I need to clear out my "to reads" I've collected before summergen starts, haha, because if you get behind on summergen there's a point of no return! XD

This is very true...I had the same problem with Springfling 😁

Oh man, springfling is a whole beast! I only did it once, but I read every single fic that was part of it that year (2011? 2012?). I dunno how big it is now, but I think that ended up being like 5 fics per day or something bonkers. But I was committed and it was a LOT of fun--I still remember a lot of those fics because so many of them were so far outside my usual range but so good.

Then I got in trouble on the anonymeme because people were suspicious of my intentions or something idek. XD

NOPE, NO READING, JUST WRITING. WRITE!!!!!!!!!

If my finding them is any indication, these aren't going anywhere. XD When I was on the Summergen comm looking for these, I was like "Wow, I don't remember this fic AT ALL. Did I even archive it?" and then I'd search on AO3 and lol sure enough, apparently I did. WHERE DID IT COME FROM.

But I had COMPLETELY forgotten about at least two of these and even having skimmed them I am not entirely sure I actually remember them.

Oh, man, relatable! It's such a surreal feeling, innit? Like you must have stumbled across something you wrote in another universe, haha.

Did looking up your past stuff end up helping you outline for this year?

You'd think I'd remember these ones more, because I spent real time on them. Like, revision was involved! XDD ONE OF THEM WAS 13K, DUSTBUNNY. 13K I DO NOT REMEMBER. But nope, here I am. Like, sometimes I'll get reviews from FFN because that's where I posted a lot of my Cars askfic, which I was churning out like hotcakes for a summer--just a bunch of short stuff based on Tumblr asks--and I won't remember those, but like, sure. If it was a couple hundred words written in an hour or two. But oh my goddddd self. XDD

Honestly, I'm not sure! I think the success of this fic will really depend on how well I can get the vibe of the outline to translate into actual words. I don't think it will really be what the prompter had in mind, but. Welp. XP It won't include anything on their DNWs, in any case!

Lol, I thought that number was a little wild but I don't usually write stuff that long, so I wondered if maybe it was a matter of relativity. Honestly had not considered how much wilder it is considering all the effort and revision that would've gone into it. You're sure you didn't slip between dimensions...?

Going from vibe to words is indeed a herculean task, especially when you're trying to keep a prompt in mind. I'll be rooting for you :D
