I always enjoy your writing and I like Tessa and I liked the idea of her choosing the form of moss--a simple life-form and well-suited to the purgatory environment, I think. I'm also a fan of Death (which still feels odd to say, even with the capital letter) and the idea of him turning up in purgatory and of him having somewhat misrepresented himself to us all is intriguing. I particularly liked the way that life blossomed around him. Not at all what you expect from Death.

All around, Purgatory is shifting, becoming--growing lush and green in Death’s presence. Moss crawls from all corners and coats all the gray trees, the gray earth. It smells of loam and decomp. Purgatory is bountiful in Death’s presence.

There's something a little bit Aslan-in-Narnia about this. Death is actually... God? (I like that idea much more than Chuck-is-God, I have to admit.) And I love this. :)

Ohhh, you've weaved such a fascinating tale here! I loved the idea of Reapers and Death meeting in purgatory, and the reforestation of it in to a sort of new heaven, maybe? Awesome!

Plus the idea that Death has been lying this whole time is just perfect! I love that idea. Like LOVE love it!!! \o/
