I haven't, but I enjoy queasy, growing terror! I'll put it on my to-watch list~ And haha, no, it wasn't intentionally Wincesty, but it was intentionally Winchester.

XDD I write whatever will be written. I really don't get to choose!

Thanks for reading, bb~ <3333

YOU ARE ONLY MAKING THIS MOVIE SOUND MORE APPEALING TO ME, FYI.

This is FANTASTIC. I'm usually no fan of backwards storytelling, but it works so well here, it comes together so perfectly. ALSO AUGH. DEAN. SAM. FUUUUUCCK.

Thank you so much, bb. <3333 Though I first want to make sure DCBB IS GOING WELL AND THIS IS NOT A DISTRACTION. XD I'm glad you enjoyed this!

I actually used your writing to jumpstart mine for the day. Currently slipping in and out of my DCBB doc. XD

Finally, a story of yours I can read. And I loved it!! LOVED IT. Wow, your stories are really gut-wrenching, though--I found myself initially recoiling from getting really deep into it because it was so painful and realistic, and poor, poor Dean!! All because Sam wouldn't come with him. :-(

I love the way it gradually wends its way back from despair and devastation to the very beginning, that very first moment of the series. I love how it all went wrong because they weren't together through all this, *sigh* ... it's kind of the theme of the whole show in a nutshell. And yay, Sachiko and Manzanar and macadamia nuts! And a good, realistic amnesia Winchester story is obviously something I dig.

Also, beautifully, wonderfully written; I love a spare style. Great job, and I'm so glad you posted this!!

I am endlessly fascinated by alternate timelines off the Pilot--so many different ways things could have gone! I'm really glad you liked this. <33 Today has been one of those "well, this day could end now and I'd be cool with it" kinds of days, so know I mean ESPECIALLY glad.

I remember being initially averse to the prompt because idek, there's so many ways to do amnesia wrong, you know? That's often why I don't like reading it (though I also don't have any idea what 'right' would be, except 'not fun.'). So I'm very happy this came across realistically to you.

Again, many thanks for reading, and for your wonderful commentary!

Weirdly enough, I recently-ish found out a friend of mine actually for real had amnesia and was in the hospital for ~six weeks with it. (!) (As you say, NOT FUN.) Amnesia has been done so many times on t.v., and it's always so over the top and cheesy and romanticized; this just felt REAL, you know??

Today has been one of those "well, this day could end now and I'd be cool with it" kinds of days, so know I mean ESPECIALLY glad.

This makes me very happy!!

Yes. Your Dean H/C rules. septembers_coda August 12 2013, 19:20:35 UTC
You. Are. Awesome! Knowing you’re the queen of Dean h/c, then getting to read a CLASSIC h/c by you… I feel lucky at the order this happened in, if that makes sense. This was a great fic.I loved it more and more the longer I read. These lines were perfect, and really brought the whole fic together for me:

He doesn't need the tech. He can do this alone, as he always has.
(Always starts now.)

It’s both an intense expression of Dean’s character, and a beautiful analogy of the amnesia and timeline itself.

Of course I loved the tie-in back to the pilot, and the glimpse of Sam at the end. I hear ya on not being able to write a fic without Sam! I just did my first one recently (I am waaaay younger than you in fandom years!) and it was weird, but then it was good. And you’re really great at Dean’s mind-voice. Even having amnesia doesn’t change that a whit, and I really FELT him throughout this fic. Awesome work. :-)

Lol I'm afraid someone else certainly wears that crown, but I WOULD NOT OBJECT TO BEING THEIR HANDMAIDEN; IS THERE A SIGN-UP SHEET? But thank you for this lovely comment. <3

I'm glad you like my inner Dean voice; that makes me really happy. And god, I know, right? Without Sam everything is just a trial and tribulation. I much prefer writing from his POV; somehow it's not as harrowing. That and I just really like Sam. XD

Thank you for reading!

LOL, I'd love to see the group of Dean h/c handmaidens. :-) I'm so glad you're back! Seeing your thoughtful comments on Summergen makes my day. It was lonely without you! But I'm so glad you got away for awhile. Going on vacation starting tomorrow, but it's largely a "staycation," so I won't be absent from the online world. :-)

I'm quite glad to be back! I missed fandom very much, haha, though it took a bit to get back in the habit. And of course I wish I were in vacation again. XP Yay for your vacation time, also! Staycationing can be totally the best. Do you have any relaxation plans? And sigh, I am so happy about summergen. Part of me wants it to end so we can get author reveals, but part of me also wants a daily excellent gen fix unto perpetuity... have both of yours been posted?

Reading this in reverse was so unsettling...kudos for not only the beautifully sparse writing but the reverse concept.

And I can't help but wonder about Dean's reaction when he does remember Sam...and realizes what he missed and has to feel guilt over...

Thank you so much for this in-depth commentary. <3 And of course, for reading! The thing I can't help but wonder about is how Sam will react if he realizes Dean is never going to remember...
