I HOPE U ALL HAD A MERRY CHRISTMAS!
mine was great. had christmas at my house and my family was all really happy about the news. then we went to mike's parents house and that was probably the most comfortable i've ever felt around the family. i had a lot of fun. we had lots of jokes about jon and amy getting engaged right after mike and i, and jokes of a double wedding etc. then mike, jon, amy, and i went over to kevin's for a little bit and had a few beers.
then mike and i went back to his apt and i played a song i had in mind maybe for our first dance..."feels like home" by chantal kreviazuk. he really liked that idea, so i'll have to look into that!
we had an awesome talk on the drive from his parents to his apt...he just told me all about being over at jimmy markle's house and jimmy was like "just get it done with and you'll be so glad you did" (in reference to nick quirconi and his fiance pushing it back later and later all the time lol) and he told me about how society kinda expects guys to resist getting married and to act like they aren't excited and like they're just doing it cuz they feel it's time and not cuz they want to...and mike was like
"but i'm really excited! i was excited to propose and i'm excited to get married" and that made me really happy to hear.
i've been thru sooo many emotions! there was shock at first. then FREAKING out after telling my family and driving with caroline to visit tash at work about the lack of time to plan...then calmness after mike called me after the winery and i realized that no matter how stressful it gets, the outcome is what it's all about and i'm looking forward to that. and then last night, TOTAL excitement. about everything.
so yea, life is good. today i have the ott side of christmas in coloma...none of them know the news of jon and amy or mike and i, so this should be fun!!
