Year-end fic meme

Borrowed from nonelvis and unfolded73, among others.

Leitmotif of the year:
Ten II and Rose, almost without exception, featured in my stories. There's a lot of differing opinions about Journey's End and how it impacted the Doctor and Rose's story, but for one, I find it fitting and comforting that there's at least one Doctor who has his happy ending. I've been delighted to write about them.

Overall Thoughts:
When I went back to the beginning of 2009, I was astonished to see The Song of Yarru. I would have said it was much earlier! Also, I really didn't write as much this year as I thought. I'm pleased with the overall arc I've taken with Ten II and Rose, with individual stories making up a somewhat irregular series.

My best story of this year:
The Quiet Chamber. Even now, I'm proud of how it came out: gentle and loving, nervous and mournful, and very optimistic.

My favorite story of this year:
Tenses and Pronouns, in which Ten II and Rose consummate their relationship. I think I hit the right note of tension and resolution there.

Story of mine most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
I don't really have an answer to that. I feel quite appreciated in my small corner of the world.

Most fun story to write:
Unquestionably, Needful Things, with all of the delightful research about men's shoe sizes, eye exams, Chuck Taylors, Jamie Oliver's restaurant, the red Wilma Flintstone glasses, and a whole lot of resolved sexual tension.

Story with the single sexiest moment:
Single sexiest? Part III of The Private Universe, where Ten II decides to seduce Rose in her living room and doesn't have to try very hard.

Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
On the Nature of Infinity is the closest to that, just because there's an element of a physical relationship between the Doctor and Larryal, and I've never done that before.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
On the Nature of Infinity, which dealt with the Doctor's own internal rules and regulations. He says so much is impossible, which is a load of baloney. What would give the Doctor as much of a mind trip as his companions have upon entering the TARDIS and traveling in time?

Hardest story to write:
Flying Kites, probably, because there was so much in it that I did and do love but it didn't quite feel put together. Also, the unfinished story noted in the next section, which continues to plague me.

Biggest Disappointment:
That I haven't been able to find the inspiration to finish the story of Nine and Jacob following the Time War, which I have a very extensive draft for. I want to finish it. I just can't quite get it to where it needs to go.

Biggest Surprise:
The discovery that I apparently really want to see Ten smoke a cigar.

Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
Unintentionally? Are they? I guess I got a little bit more into personal hygiene issues in The Private Universe than I intended to. Morning breath, for the record, is not sexy.

Story I haven't yet written, but intend to:
I've got a very nice plotline for another story in the Process of Becoming 'verse (and incidentally, since we're being honest here, I detest that series name and wish I'd never thought of it) involving dreams and sleep and how they could be exploited. Something nice, pretending that series four and the rest never happened, with a bit of mystery and aliens and adventure. I've not even started it yet.
