The Quiet Chamber

Aug 23, 2008 19:03

It's been some time since I posted any real fic, and I'm pleased to share this story, which picks up for Ten II and Rose immediately following Journey's End. Spoilers through that episode, obviously, but no other warnings.

Thanks as always to platypus for beta input.

I loved this!

My favorite line is probably the last one: "Five hundred and twelve miles an hour," he murmured, half asleep already. His hand at her waist tightened perceptibly. "Wherever you go."

I enjoy your writing so much, and I had hoped you would write some post JE fic! Thank you!

Thank you -- I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll post more in this same sequence in time, whenever I get it worked out.

Oh *wibble*

That was so lovely. And hopeful but not sugarcoated. Realistic. Painful. Their instinctive craving of each other's touch coupled with her confusion and his slight desperation... all really well rendered.

I also love that Rose doesn't entirely hold back, demands answers even if he's not ready. But she knows she's lucky for even as much as she has. And he really knows that.

Also, the Torchwood party at the beginning was fabulous. :)

That's exactly what I was going for -- so I'm glad you enjoyed it and felt it worked in that perspective.

HEE! I love that part. I just expect that there would be a general amount of freaking out about saving the world.

This was beautiful, though I expected nothing less from you; the last paragraph was particularly lovely.

I am also intensely grateful that what you have written has virtually no overlaps with what I'm working on. PHEW.

Thank you. I'm very pleased at how this came out.

And as for overlap - cheers. I'm looking forward to reading your take as well.

As with everything you write, this story is lushly, lyrically, beautiful. It was definitely a delight to find it on my f-list--I've missed your writing something fierce.

I, er, don't suppose you'll write a follow-up?

Yep. No question. And thank you for the compliment. :)
