Life is too much for livejournal.

It's daunting to try and keep track of this year. Time acts differently in times of transition. I remember feeling it senior year of high school. Moments cease being moments and become landmarks- "can you believe this is the last first saturday in October we'll ever spend at Smith?!?"

transition time is crazy. in some ways, it feels to me like the entire early twenties (all twenties?) is one giant transition.

also, this reminds me of something my mom, a sociologist, has told me a couple of times. the new official label for our lifestage is "emerging adulthood." how much change and transition and movement is inherent in that phrase?

hey kate! it's Hillary! I added you to my LJ friends because I was reading Dana's journal and didn't know you had it too! It's great to hear things are going so well for you this year, and we have tennis in common! I'm taking it at Mt. Holyoke this year and I agree it's soooooooo much fun. So you've decided to wait on grad school? I'm doing that too, and I'm applying for JET and Peace Corps... my peace corps interview is next friday. yikes! It's finally putting the "end" of college in perspective and i'm not sure how I feel about it. hopefully i'll see you soon!

hey Hillary! Good luck with your peace corps interview, is it a one on one thing or do you have to face a whole panel? And yay for tennis! I played volleyball all through high school, but I am very glad I switched to tennis....
