To be honest I haven't listened to music in awhile -- I have these aural droughts where I don't want to hear a chord then I return to it. Even in the middle of it though there are some songs that peek in.
1. Shades of Brooklyn - Change -- off one of DJ Premier's mixtapes New York Reality Check 101 the piano notes take me back to what began my love affair with hip-hop.
2. De La Soul - Rock Co.Kane Flow -- I am one of those people that will listen to the same song over and over again until people want to fling me out of a window. This is the current track.
3. April March - Chick Habit -- If there's something I'll never do is hang up my chick habit, but the song is bouyant to a fault.
4. Edwyn Collins - A Girl Like You -- It's a me song through and through.
5. Audiobullys - Way Too Long -- Man do I dig this song, I came across them through the remix of the Nancy Sinatra song Shot You Down which was on heavy rotation on Sirius - Area 63.
6. Maria Callas - Casta Diva - This is not one of my favorite track by Callas (probably Suicidio from La Gioconda or the infamous La Mamma Morta) but as it was incorporated into 2046 my new Top 5 film. In fact, the entire soundtrack should be my entry for number 6.
