Fibery goodness

Some of the ladies of my acquaintance gathered again at my house today for some Fiber Fun and a Crafternoon of wonderfulness. Teri, Charlotte, June, Margaret and I all worked on our own projects, some knitting and some quilting, but all enjoying time together to chat and share the lunch I had prepared. Homemade macaroni and cheese, a leafy salad and rolls, plus contributions of cookies from Charlotte and a fruity-cake from June made for a filling feast. Teri, having her house packed as we met, was "knit-less" in Süsterseel, but I soon fixed that. Having the Warm Hats, Not Hot Heads project hat still on the needles, I suggested (asked? required? begged?) that she help me out a bit with that, so she jumped in and did a few rows while we waited for the casserole to cook up. Whew, thanks Teri!

This evening one of my genealogy e-mail lists provided a link to online birth/death/probate records in pdf form for my dad's family's county in Ohio - in checking them out briefly, I found a birth record for the sister of my great-grandpa. Yippee! His younger brother should be shown in the pages as well, being born about 4 years after her. Her record is a little confusing, though: there are two entries, one for an Emma Short, but no parents given... the other for an Emma Schrader, whose mother's name fits my info but the father's name is shown as Chas. (Charles), Schrader... and the birth dates for the two girls are different. So I'll look further in the pages and see if I can find the brother, then see what that shows.

Ah, gotta love a hobby that leaves you scratching your head, eh?
