Hello and happy 1st of December! :)
Today I'm sharing 4 altered versions of Pleasantview's terrain so that the Brokes, the Burbs and everyone else from Pleasantview could go to the beach once in a while. I know that something similar has been uploaded before but
this version does not have the same roads as Pleasantview, which makes the terrain difficult to replace. Pleasantview's original terrain, the one I used as a base, was uploaded by
Mootilda.
I made 4 slightly different versions so that everyone could choose the one they like the best.
With versions 3 and 4 the road on the left needs to be lowered by one click using the modifyneighborhoodterrain on/off cheat, otherwise the terrain there is too high for beach lots.
I have included all 4 terrains in the download folder, choose the one you like the best. The terrain and preview pics go to Documents > The Sims 2 > SC4 Terrains (open the folder and place files only).
DOWNLOADNow, if you want to replace your Pleasantview with one of these terrains, here's what you need to do.
1) Make a new neighborhood using that SC4 terrain you chose. Quit the game.
2) Download and install
HoodReplace by Mootilda.
3) Start up the HoodReplace.
4) Find the new neighborhood you just made under "Copy From" and your Pleasantview under "Copy To". Replace only Terrain and Roads, remove other checkmarks. Click "Copy". Done!
NB! If you have modified your Pleasantview before (using the modifyneighborhoodterrain cheat), replacing the terrain will redo it. You could just replace the roads in that case and smooth the area close to the water later... I am pretty sure this should do the trick. If you have any lots close to the road ends that were altered, move them somewhere else before replacing the terrain, just in case.
Here's what Pleasantview will look like after hoodreplace (I used terrain version 4):
Scary, I know :P It's mostly because of these deco waves. Delete them. Delete the trees that are on the roads, too.
Add the beach lots and perhaps some 'hood deco.
Done! Everyone to the beach, now! :)
Enjoy! :)
[ I hope no one found themselves thinking "darn, Kalisa, I'm not that stupid" while reading this - or if you did, sorry :P - I was just trying to be thorough because I myself am quite afraid of messing up my neighborhood :P ]
Oh and I'd like to thank
moonkitty for giving me the idea :) I hope there will be a beach in your Pleasantview soon, moonkitty!
