ah, see, signal from noise. What is signal, and what is noise? You find signal- bipolar, then you try to apply it.. to this bigger picture... it gets lost in the noise. It becomes "all this".
But it isn't! Bipolar is an extremely noble cause, fought by Lythe! And you don't only care about yours.... That's obvious. You identify with them... "people like me".
...The homeless man, waving his arms about. Maybe talking a lot of shit to a cop, feeling... invincible... and getting shot for it. Same battle as you, with no army.
You have to struggle, and you've got the best care in the world. Many, many, many, do not. They go untreated, with terrible fates, like the guy on the plane talking shit about a bomb.
Every day you have less money and time than everyone else because you have to spend a fortune on the treatment you need. Why? Shouldn't that be free? Isn't your life just as valuable as everyone else's? Then why do you have to work harder just because of something you were born with?
See what I'm trying to say? It's the same exact cause, Lythe.
It's the exact same cause.
(And for the record you are one of the smartest people I have met so far at UTSW, faculty included.)
yeah, same cause, different slant, different niche. same inequality. that guy on the plane really touched me. why oh why didn't he take his meds? it's the curse of bipolar. what about the people who want meds but can't afford them or the doctor to prescribe them? why do the good psychiatrists tend to be the ones not on insurance panels (because insurance sucks with all their red tape)? yeah, don't get me ranting about bipolar.
but i go where i can go. make some use of this illness i have. be the best effector molecule i can be in whatever niche i am in. err...

There you go-- except all that stuff isn't because of bipolar, its because we live in a society where profit comes before people. In other words, capitalism
is the reason people can't afford their medications
is the reason people can't afford the good psychiatrists
is the reason that so many have no control over their lives
