there's a girl in a house on a hill near the bottom of the block is she there staying still?
on the other side of town that's really only the middle, i've begun another story, part losing rebecca in january & part gas-induced haziness & part "we're even" thoughts even if maybe that's not really one hundred per cent true. i was thinking about naming the me-girl cathleen, because i can't always be french or polish when i write pieces with a me-girl in them, even if some are first person. i wonder if there's a rule that you don't win fiction contests once you've been published in a non-contest way in a literary journal? there's no harm in entering anything, anyway, minus the $27 entry fee, & even that's only three packs of cigarettes with change left over...
