Another update

Well, I'm back from New York. The awards ceremony was great. The Plaza hotel was gorgeous. New York was crowded. And there are way too many tolls. I didn't win, but I am happy that I made it as a finalist...in the romance category. Sigh. It's not that I'm disappointed. It's an honor to be recognized, but I really had my heart set on the Sci-Fi category. Oh well, there is always next year.

I've been a busy beaver since getting back, trying to catch up with everyone.

I finally have a blog up. Seems having an internet presence is essential if you want to succeed these days. Big Sigh. So, I've given in and here is the result:

http://elizabethlang.blogspot.com/

Come by and check it out! I will have regular posts Mondays and Fridays. Mondays will be on info and trends in science fiction, the publishing industry and writing. Fridays will have a feature on: Science Fact or Fiction, status of the Empire series and short fiction or poetry.

There will be a B7 mention this Friday! The first Science Fact or Fiction will explore the concept of...the teleport. Are we close to building one or does it belong to the world of fantasy? Come by and check it out this Friday!

There is also a poll for sub-genres of science fiction. Vote for your favorite ones!

As everyone keeps telling me, The Empire is a science fiction romance. Sooo, I've given in...and this Friday also marks my first Author Chat at The Romantic Reviews website during their Summer Sizzler's event in June. I will be available for comments/questions/interaction for most of the day at the TRR Lounge, starting at 8am. If you have a few seconds to spare, drop by and say 'hi'. Or give me a nudge and promise of coffeeeeee! I can use some company :)

And last, but not least, after some honest critique of the cover for The Empire, I convinced my publisher to give the novel a brand new look. i.e. a new cover. So, the last 3 months, I've been searching high and low for a new cover artist. I finally found a talented woman who has done some great covers. This is the wonderful result.
