Silly programs crashing... (over-do update)

Sep 26, 2007 22:00

OK, im going to try this again.. i was on a roll in writing a journal entry in TextEdit and the program crashed ><; so not cool.

Anyways, as I was typing earlier...

Everything is going well. I'm just working during the day, hanging and relaxing with my roomies at night. Weekends I try and get out of the house so I dont drive anyone crazy (sorry Nana ^^;; ). I'm doing pretty good even though Matt is gone. But we talk at least once a day, usually online and once at night to say goodnight to each other.

Matt is doing well in Texas. Doing his class and stuff. Don't know the details.. CAN'T know the details. Classified information and all that jazz. lol. I get to see him in October! (12th-14th). There is talk of going to SeaWorld and going to the RiverWalk. Then he will come to my parents place for Thanksgiving. Then I probably wont see him again until New Years when I go see him in Pennsylvania. After that, it will be Hawaii time!

I am starting to get a little nervous about the job situation though. I really want to keep this job because I get paid well and have benefits already. I just don't know if they will let me work from Hawaii. I have talked to a few people at work about this (not higher up people though) and they seem to think that it shouldn't be a problem.. but they don't get to decide unfortunately. Maybe i am just nervous because it's getting close to time i said I would talk to my work about it. Also, it doesn't help that just last week the company sent out a memo saying that they are going to evaluate who has aVPN connection and they are going to start making more people work onsite rather then from home. Apparently lots of people who live in the area just are not coming into the office and using the VPN access instead (which costs money per month and per user). ONly people who have to travel over an hour to work can apply to work from home but they also want most people close enough to a headquarters to come in if need be. I wont be able to if I'm in Hawaii. I still plan on turning in a proposal though. I'm going to ask for at least a trial period and hopefully can convince them at least for that. If not, then I will just have to apply for jobs in Hawaii. I did end up finding a job out there that also makes the standardized test that I make at my work, so that is also an option.

Hm.. what else is new.. I've started doing walks/jogs in the mornings. Trying get some more jogging then walking and sometimes I accomplish this and sometimes I don't. I am trying to get into shape though, mostly for Hawaii. I wanna look good damnit lol.
I also went out and got my hair highlighted again. Haven't had that done since I graduated from college.

This weekend my work group wants to get together and meet up at the Renaissance Fair. Should be fun (if I go. still deciding).

I realize that I never actually wrote any entries to go with those pictures I posted... and it's been a while so now I forget what I was going to say lol
Most of the pics are from Vegas, which Matt and I went to Labor Day weekend. We had a blast! Sure it was hot (109 degrees one day) but we survived by taking the Duce (a double decker, air-conditioned bus) and going into the casinos (even if they did reek of cigarette smoke). We saw three shows total. Two on Saturday and one on Sunday. The two on Saturday was a Magic Show with Dirk Author and the second was "V" Variety Show which is basically what the title says, a show with lots of different actts: from skits, to acrobatics, to impersonations, to juggling to magic. All very awesome.
The one we saw on Sunday was the Wayne Brady Show. I actually saw Wayne Brady in person! It was very neat. He did singing and dancing and improv. Very very fun stuff.
Aside from the shows, we walked around a lot, visited casino's, the wax museum, and played blackjack at night (and when $40 lasts you 3-5 hours at one table, that isn't bad at all!). We stayed at Circus Circus and never actually made it to the Midway! Next time.. yes, next time!
On that Monday I drove with him to Arizona where he was going to stay with a buddy on his way to TX and I was going to fly back to Monterey. It was actually cheaper to fly from Arizona to Monterey then Vegas to Monterey, even though my layover was in Vegas! And.. unfortunately, i got STUCK in Vegas over night! My flight got canceled. Lucky me huh? Wouldn't have been so bad if Matt was with me, but he was in Arizona still. I surived though and made it back to Monterey at 2pm the next day, so I got another day off of work, even though I ended up having to make up the hours lol.

That's really about it though. I know I've been slacking on the updates but not much is happening. Don't be surprised if I don't post again until after I visit Matt in October ^^; I DO read the journal entries though! Every morning before my runs I check my websites and my LJ Friends pages is usually one of the first on the list (along with the CAD Comic and a few threads on Gaiaonline lol).

Hope everyone is doing well! For those of you who have my number, gimmie a call sometime to chat! I have a pretty new Motorola SLVR phone I got this past weekend (not new, i got it from a student on campus for $65, pretty good deal). And for those of you dont have my number... well, just ask!

matt, vegas, work
