“Don’t tell me you’re afraid of thunder storms, Granger,” Draco said, and Hermione could positively hear the sneer in his voice.
“Of course not!” she immediately replied, but she scooted closer to him anyway when another lighting bolt illuminated their bedroom and a deafening thunder rumbled through the sky only seconds later.
“Right, you’re not scared at all,” Draco commented dryly. Hermione noticed though that he didn’t push her away. Usually Draco wasn’t one to tolerate cuddling.
“I expect thunder storms don’t scare you at all,” she snapped.
“Naturally. In fact, I happen to like them. You can feel the magic in the air. It’s very powerful.”
Hermione just huffed.
“Seriously, Granger. Ever tried casting a stunner during a storm? It’ll be three times as potent.”
“I’ll have to take your word for it.” The next thunder temporarily interrupted their conversation, and Hermione did her best not to flinch. Draco still laughed.
“Whatever would the Daily Prophet say were they to find out that their favourite war heroine is scared of a little bit of bad weather?”
“I don’t know.” Hermione replied acidly. “What would they say if someone told them that the youngest Death Eater ever to join Voldemort’s ranks and fearless spy for the Order of the Phoenix is scared of bunnies?”
“You wouldn’t dare!”
