Moderating hp_spring_fling I realised how many people don't know html codes. So I thought it would be best if there was a tutorial explaining the basic coding needed for posting a fic.

How do you do the little box things when you want people to copy them? Do you know what I mean?

                This is a brilliant tutorial. Will definitely have to link to it for all my fests. Thanks so much for cobbling this together! <br /><br /> One thing to note: it's not actually necessary to have quotes in < lj user=name >. If you remove the spaces in what I just typed, that's sufficient to code for any LJ or comm.

                Thanks. Glad you think this tutorial is helpful. <br /><br /> I included the quotes because sometimes you do need them (like for lj cuts). I thought it would be easier for beginners to just always use them instead of trying to remember when they need them and when not.

                I was wondering if you knew how to code footnotes? I can do the part to bring the reader down to the footnote, but I can't figure out the proper code for returning the reader to the text of the story...
