Okay, here's the thing. I'm in this online college, right, and I've been there for the past year and every single semester, every class has a group project. I know this. Everyone knows this. We've all done them before.
So. It happens that the group projects for the current semester are due tonight. We've had a week to do them, and of the five people in our group, everyone got their work in on time except one. My part depended on everyone else's part to be done first, and when the one person didn't have her individual part done yesterday as the group agreed, I emailed her. No reply. Tried again this morning, and clearly stated that if she did not have it in by this afternoon, I would do it myself. Still no reply. So, did it myself.
Uploaded the final presentation, got acceptance from the group, except for our missing member, who was still absent. Then, two hours before the deadline, she uploads her portion and sends me a whiny email asking why I didn't wait. I gather up my patience and explain that I had no way of knowning she was going to show up at the last minute, and also, the deadline is midnight and I didn't feel like scraping my project together late at night just because she wanted to wait around. She emails back saying she's sorry, but as group leader it's my responsibility to wait for everyone and not post early just because I got scared we were going to be late.
*headdesk*
Oh, and she's also sending copies of all our correspondence to the instructor. I'm sure that will endear our group to him. We are three months away from a completed bachelor's degree. Why are people still stupid? (And why is all the rum gone?)
