I got my flight booked. Got tired of waiting for the rates to drop and watching them only go the other way. I'm not one to hold my nerve in that game of chicken ( Read more... )

Oh, but Iceland wasn't planned for me! And I did truly love the experience, met some very nice people and drank some exceptional beer. Be sure to order some seafood if you can! xoxo

Well, I'm only planned to be there 1.5 hours each way, so we'll see! :)

Oh, and I thought you knew I don't like seafood. So I'm pretty sure rotten shark and I won't get along well.

Since Iceland was so unplanned for me, I'm certain you'll be flying into a different city than I did. If I were you, I would fully embrace the chance to see the area...a wonderful experience all around. Granted, they are having a small volcano problem at the moment...I hope that doesn't interfere with your plans.

And I had no idea you didn't like seafood! (Or forgot.) Not even shellfish??

I'm pretty sure there's no place in Iceland to fly but Reykjavik. It's a small island, and only has 300,000, so not a lot of population to fill multiple urban centres.

I don't like any seafood, including shellfish. No, I take that back. Particularly shellfish. I'm not even really that fond of seaweed or other vegetation.

Since my trip there included plane failure and an emergency landing, I spent a few days in Keflavik...was the only place we could get to after dumping all our fuel. Not complaining at all, I got to see a very intimate side of Iceland. :)

I'm shocked by your severe distaste for shellfish. Surely I repressed this memory if you ever told me before...my world could simply not continue in the absence of shrimp.

Fair enough! Didn't realise Iceland had multiple large airports. Wealthy enough country, only makes sense I guess.

I should probably give it another go sometimes, it's been so long.

Keflavik is NOT a large airport. The reason I was there for two days is because nobody there could fix our plane. They had to fly in an entirely new plane with a mechanic crew. It was fantastic!

I meant large enough to land a transatlantic jet.
