but it's worse than that. Librarian #1 couldn't find her son yesterday. He lives by the French Quarter in a victorian, and he didn't evac. I don't know if she's found a way to get a hold of anybody yet. She was a wreck yesterday and sent me home because, though physically at work she was taking off becacuse she couldn't deal. she was taking her mom to do something normal to break the cycle of worry for a bit. Librarian #2 grew up in and around New Orleans and was freaking most of the day, though not the kind of freaking you'd expect. In the past few days I've learned the difference between freaking out and what I'll call cajun freaking out....difference being cajun freakout contains less outward emotion and more southern comfort.

Dont' know what's going on with Pat's family yet but they all got out so that's good.

I'm going home today (I've been in gulfport since sun night) I'm happy, I miss my kitties. It will be easier once I'm down here. That way I can run over and check on them instead of just hoping belly didn't open the freazer again I can go look.

I applied to 2 jobs yesterday at SPJC and I'm going to apply for one in Clearwater tongiht. So that ball is moving. Now just comes apt hunting. I'm going to call some places on thurs when I have my work phone (saves minutes) and call to see if these places have central A/C 'cause if they do they look good.

Question: Skippy what does your electric bill usually run? How do you get heat in the winter? "cause you've got a wall unit how much does it cost to run in the summer? Ann same question from G'ville 'cause you had a wall unit before I moved in with you.

So yep lots of stuff going on and a lot of worry. But the pictures looked ok coming out of LA last night on the news, it's bad but it could have been a lot lot worse. Guess Pat's won another round and I wont be going to LA for a long time now ;)

storm, moving
