I *finally* went grocery shopping tonight. About time! I bought a box of brownie mix in anticipation of our new stove being delivered this week. Just realized I have no pan to cook them in, though. I also got the new fudge-covered Oreos, which may possibly be the best idea ever!
I can't believe that it's nearly Thanksgiving, and I was able to lay out on the back deck today, enjoying the sunshine. Please let it continue like this all winter! (Whoa, I am talking about the weather. I AM SO BORING!)
My ex-boyfriend is supposed to be sending me a MS Office cd, so I will be able to go back to updating Straight On Till Moning soon- HOORAY! LJ is lovely and all, but I miss my own site. Hurry up, mail!
15 days till vacation. I've been over-planning, as usual, but I still have a lot to do. I got a shiny new digital video camera last week, but the dude at Best Buy told me that it wouldn't record videos to a memory card, only store pictures on it, so I bought the mini-DV tapes. Well, I get home and read the manual, like the nerdgirl that I am, only to discover that it WILL store videos on the memory card! So, now I need to get back to Best Buy again to get one (it uses a different format than my digital cam.). I am also needing Buffy S7 on DVD, but there are rumors of Tarzhay having it for $17.77 on black Friday, so I may hold out.
I need this vacation so. very. much. My job is grinding away at my nerves, not to mention my sanity, and I really want to quit, but just can't get up the nerve. Plus, I need to figure out what to do after I quit, which I haven't figured out yet. If I wait till March, pretty much every single place in Branson will be hiring, and I can just take my pick, but I really don't want to drive around in yucky weather all winter, so if I'm going to quit, it needs to be right around January. Arrrrgh! I miss being a kid and letting parents take care of the hard stuff. Stupid responsibility and maturity.
The guy who is supposed to be doing house repairs for us has been a) out of the country, followed by b) sick with a string of different illnesses, and so long story short, I still have to shower upstairs. I want to install shelves in my bathroom, but there's a wall and a spot on the ceiling that needs fixed first, and then I have to paint, so I'm stuck until he gets over here and fixes things. I hate having to wait! Can someone send me a designer to help me fix things so that I feel like I really live here? My current setup is just not working yet.
I've been looking through various photos of this year's
Burningman, and it makes me want to go so very much. Hopefully within the next few years. I have no idea what I could contribute to the community, but I'd love to experience it.
This is my "get stuff done!" weekend, since I've been such a slacker lately, and so I'm off to do just that! (get stuff done, not slack. Well, that's the plan, anyway.)
