RL and Fannish Pursuits
RL:
I have become immersed in politics, socialism, economics, discussions about race, gender and sexuality, etc... so tumblr and ONTD political and blogs have become my life. I am trying to find groups/ places of interest in good ol' Edmonton but goodness this place is so flippin' backwards its really hard. And apparently people stop caring about issues and activism once they hit 25 and they get married/ have babies where I'm at except for my 'globe trotting/ married with no kids/ any or both or more apply' friends. Gah, organized groups aimed at making my city better is sadly not advertised which isn't fair. But I'm totes positive and highly organized so I will make it happen.
Already turned down 1 d-bag who was a potential suitor and kudos for me for actually not feeling guilty about that. It's sad how society impresses on women we should give all men a chance. Umm how about no?
Fannish:
Lovin' the Sherlock and a new appreciation for Sarah. Honestly Watson and Holmes should stay away from women altogether even if they never get together because they don't know how to treat a woman. They treat each other so much better and should realize that and get married with or without the sex (as they are now because REALLY) and leave all amazing women who happen to be interested in them alone. So unlike Guy Ritchie movie Sherlock who I OT3 with Mary and can actually see it working.
Irene is my new goddess and she makes up for how crappy her movie version was treated. **gives evil eyes.**
Moffat and co emphasizing in every fucking interview about how Watson and Holmes are best friends and nothing more makes me want to hit him. HARD. You can be more than friends without sex mister; I thought you understood that when you said you wanted to explore their unique relationship that has nothing to do with sex. Thankfully he omitted his whining from the source material so I can revel in the awesomeness that is season two.
NCIS LA is back and really, all I ask if for smart and relevant material because the cast is amazing and makes everything magical with their chemistry because they are a real team. I love it and the latest ep has Sam and G really happily married; Nell and Eric actually getting some much needed depth again to their budding partnership and Deeks and kensi navigate around each other so smoothly without any anvilly material that it was heavenly. Also, Hetty reigned supreme and Granger unlike Hunter can really act and actually was interesting. Heads- up I predict with my crystal ball all partnerships will have their foundations tested in the last half of season three. Looking forward to it.
