A trick my mother told me. If someone gives you unwanted or insulting advice, respond "Thank you for your concern." She says that's like saying "Fuck you" only you can say it in a board meeting.
Although one time she said "Thank you for your concern" to my father and I said, wisely, "Hey ma! You just said "fuck you!" to Dad!" After dinner she said "I KNOW that, but I didn't want him to KNOW that was what I was saying!"
And I have to say, aw, Kali, you used to be so little and cute and sweet! What happened? Besides me. And high school.
