new york, braces, and summer
alright. so yesterday i got back from a 4 day trip to new york. this is pretty much how it went:
friday -- i took a red eye to new york
saturday -- i arrived in new york, my aunt and i spent the day in times square, little italy and chinatown. we got 50% off tickets to brooklyn the musical thate night. the seats happened to be amazing, and the show was sooooo good. kevin anderson had an understudy, and the cast was amazing. they could all belt so well! i really liked the set and costumes as well, it was just a great show.
sunday -- we went to greenich village and ate vietnamese food, we just walked around the village all day, and saw rent that night. rent was amazing as well. i had such high expectations for the show, that it wasn't quite as good as i was expecting. everyone in it had such strong voices and i really liked how well they could all dance. the story was so sad, omg i cried a lot =]
monday -- we went on a tour bus , and saw all the important stuff. lol. then we saw ground zero and went on the ferry for the statue of liberty and ellis island. we only had time for one, and we couldn't go into the statue of libetry so we went to ellis island. it was really interesting to see all of it; the pictures and things people left behind. most the shows weren't playing that night, so we ate dinner with my aunt's friend instead.
tuesday -- we woke up really early, and went up the empire state building. it was amazing all the buildings you could see from up there, and how close to eachother they are. we then went to st. patrick's cathedral. it was so beautiful outside, and even more inside. i got to pray in the cathedral, which was great. it was really relaxing. that night we saw la cage aux falles. it was so good, and really funny. its based on the movie birdcage (which i haven't seen) but the show was really good. the dancing was great and there were some famous people in it, but they were a little older, so i didn't know who they were =] but i got thier autographs anyways. lol.
wednesday -- i had a 7AM flight, which i almost missed because we took the subway to the airport intead of a cab, but now im home =]
during my trip we took the subway almost everywhere.i loved being in new york, but i don't think i would want to live there, its a little to dirty and congested. but i had a lot of fun, and want to go back to visit!!! i would post pictures, but im not sure how to, so if anyone knows, comment!!!
so...i leave with my family to go to north carolina on sunday for about a week. its a family reunion, so it should be fun AND i get my braces off in about 8 weeks, like 4 days before school starts! yay!
