It’s 2:30. I’m not tired.
Yesterday I had a similar thought at around 5am.
This insomnia crap has got to go.
Tomorrow I plan to take the kids to the park and run around until we all pass out in pleasant post-play oblivion. The trick is getting all three of them to agree to this plan.
At one o’clock, I have an appointment with the placement board for PPCD, if all goes as planned Quinn and Coley will both start at Wooten Elemenrty after the holidays. I’ll have to file crazy forms to get Quinn in; he’ll have to be transferred from Pillow. But Wooten is physically closer and the only school in the area that has the programs that Coley needs. Ben said that he will be coming too. I hope so. I really want him to be involved in this.
I have become one of those people who puts off the present making until the last possible second. What happened? I used to be so good about this. Maybe I had more time on my hands before. I would really like to have everyone’s tunics done before the holiday is over but I just don’t think it’s gonna happen. I have the mats for Julie, Shawn, and Joe. My ideas for everyone else’s will have to be altered to fit the things that I already have on hand.
Anyone have a spare PGXIII stencil lying around? I could really use one.
This will be the first weekend in this month that I haven’t had a Crown Visit. Good thing I have all this holidayness to distract me. And Genna’s First birthday will be the 28th. What to do, what to do. There is always the standard come over, have cake and listen to Quinn’s oratory routine; which I think is entertaining, but I may be biased since I spawned him.
The unpacking from the move is almost done. Mostly the study and our room need to be cleaned out. I have made a solemn vow not to do any sewing in the Living room, and Cody was kind enough to set up my sewing desk and computer in here while I was away at EH Coronation, but I really need some more room to lay out cloth and things. No help for I suppose; I’ll have to finish organizing this place while the kids are enjoying their after-park nap.
I think that Cody and I will have to split the studio closet in half, his bit for computer bones and my bit for…crafty… bones. I would really like to put some shelves in over my desk and above the closet nook, so much wasted space. But that is a project for another day.
Wednesday night I should be having a meeting with Jason, Terry, Sponge and Mystie about SW. The Park crowns will have to wait until after the holiday. Anyone have any feeling on how favors should be handled at large events? Did anyone like the favors that were handed out at SW last year? Are prizes a bonus, or are they something that you expect to see when you win something at a major event? Personally I think that you should have Prizes and favors. I think that both should be practical, but can be done well. I still see people wearing and using the favors from last year.
The Midreign Plans for the Mask seem to be coming along well. I really liked a lot of the ideas that Ann and Frank and I talked about at lunch the other day. They and Leslie and Doug are doing a lot of thing to increase the atmosphere, which I think it awesome. Must remember to bring up A&S and Tourney stuff with Doug when I talk with him next.
I also need to Contact Kyrupt about his running End Reign I as of yet have no confirmation and no budget from him. Since I already have the site reserved it isn’t an immediate need, I’d just rather get it out of the way.
Then there Genna’s Birthday on the 28th, the visit to Ardeth’s gate on the 31st , The trip to the bridal expo with Randi on the 6th , invasion of Mordengaard on the 7th , Quest on the 18th in San Antonio, Court date with the Attorney general on the 25th and then Weapon master on the 28th all in January. Busy, busy, busy.
But the one thing I’m really stressing about is the Custody hearing on the 15th of February. I emailed my lawyer to set up an appointment to prepare for it.
So, for tomorrow.
Wake up with Cody at seven in four hours. Make breakfast and lots of coffee. Dress and dress chitlens. Clean the kid’s room. Wash their comforters and ours, then start a load of towels and let Quinn play Mario cart while I organize the study. I hope to be finished before lunch time, this of course I know is pipe dream, but goals are good. Feed the kids lunch, something easy, I think that we have some more rice noodles; so noodles and their choice of sauce, pesto for Cole. And fruit, always with the fruit. Email Cody to remind him of the appointment with PPCD board. Check distance for bus schedules and possible leisurely walk back from the school. Pack up supplies, in the backpack it’ll be easier to carry, wash faces and hands and apply shoes to the trio. Then play outside on the hill until Cody arrives. Go to the meeting; spend god knows how long there (I hate not knowing how long things will take) and then walk, or bus, home. Must remember to bring correct change! Then home more organizing and cleaning, and start dinner prep. I think I’ll make fried chicken with cornmeal and rice flour. Work on Christmas presents, cloaks for the kids, tunics for the family, still drawing a blank on Cody.
What to get the boy for Christmas.
Any thoughts?
