Yep. Had a solo concert. Freaked out. Not as much as usual though, since I knew I wasn't going first. The last three concerts I had to go first. Even when I was a poor widdle 8th grader.
There were like, 20 people there and only five of us were in high school. Is that not sad? ._. And three of us were freshmen. Saaad. Kinda made better friends with Anna and Melissa though. Made acquaintances with Becca Hines. She rocks collective socks and is a senior. Anyone who went to the madrigal dinner (No one I know, I don't think. o-O;; If you did, tell me.) would at least remember her. She was the only soprano in the Harmony group. Kinda scary, but she was really good. I think some people thought she was a soloist. x3;;
Woo. I did good. :D;; My dad said I was second best there. There was no way I would have been better than Becca, so I'm happy. n.n;; But then he had to go and say "If that other girl hadn't been flat, she'd have been second best." -_-;; Gee thanks, dad. Way to totally wreck self-esteem.
But the other girl was flat. So there. D: And it was on a Phantom of the Opera song. >_<;; I felt so bad for her. I actually winced a little bit on the last note, which was terribly, horribly flat. But that's only because I've sung that song before like, a gazillion times. D:;; I can pull the pitches out of air.
Band has it a tad easier, I think. With the pitches. We, most of the time, have to memorize what pitches to hit and it's not as easy for some as it is for others. Jared has a horrible time with it... >.<; All the band people have to do is press the right buttons, so to speak. >_<; Or cover the right holes. I understand there is mouth shape and breath control involved also, but I'm just saying. It's a bit easier for band people. Especially the drum line. >_>; Slackers.
