as for the shoes i got the purple-patterned kitten heels. the sizes available were an issue, & these are even 1/2 size too big. but they match the dress & are cute. i ordered them on a monday (well, sunday night) with free 4-5 day shipping & they got here on wednesday! i also really like the ups package tracking.
i've been wearing the earth shoes i got from zappos a lot also. i wore them to work & at least 5 people tried them on! my lower back still has some aches but my feet feel nice in them. taking them off feels like when you take rollerskates off...which is basically indescribable. the asics i got are very comfortable but i just don't like how they look. they'll be shipped back sometime this week if i get around to packing them back up.
on a troubling note yesterday i discovered one of the gerbils (the lone girl, who we had to separate from the others lest a population explosion) has little bugs--blood mites, we think. so last night's fun included scrubbing her cage, bowls, wheel, & little wooden house with hot water & soft scrub with bleach (where our actual bleach is a mystery) & then the traumatic experience of spraying her with stinky medicine & rubbing it into her poor little skin! mister toon's new hand tattoo relegated him to the role of helper while i assumed the healthcare worker mindset & performed the dirty work. we bundled her up in a hand towel until she dried off. i was attempting to check her poor little scabby nose when she finally decided she'd had enough & gave me a nice hard bite on the fingertip, causing more drama & medical supplies. once back in her cage she was rolling around on the bedding & grooming herself & running around. today she looks sleek & shiny. the next few days will show if our hardwork needs to be redone.
