That's from one of the old Hollywood communities on LJ. When I was sixteen and a deeply unhappy teenager, I used to go to the library and spend hours looking at George Hurrell's photos of iconic Hollywood women from the thirties, forties, and fifties. Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow, Marilyn Monroe, Hedy Lamarr, Lauren Bacall, Anna May Wong, Josephine Baker, Carmen Miranda, Lupe Velez, Mae West, all of them. I'm trying to remember the name of my favorite book, which was a massive tome that was devoted to Garbo, Dietrich, Marilyn, and Joan. Google is of no help. Anyway, I spent so much time looking at it that my schoolwork suffered.
