Some clarification regarding my part in recent events at scans_daily.

I think the guy needs to fucking man up. Oh noez a girl fake threatened me on the internets! Ugh. Whatever.

General consensus seems to be that it's surprising SD lasted as long as it did, given the copyrights issues. Nonetheless, Mr. David is the one acting like the school yard bully he is so fond of mentioning, with his dance of getting it taken down.

This is probably one of the best arguments I have ever seen for fourth fucking wall. Fandom is for us. Not them. Period.

I think there's a place for creator and fan dialog in fan-run spaces. In fact, occasionally it's really fun to talk to creators and geek out with them over shared love for characters, mediums, and genres. But, yeah, there is a leitmotif of creators occasionally stumbling across fannish spaces, not understanding the culture and styles of group discourse of same, and things going downhill from there. On both sides.

Kita, I was a complete jerk on LJ in roleplaying environs four years ago. I drove away some friends that I really cared about, some acquaintances, and not a few people that I RPed with because of my behavior. If you're talking about the stuff about me in the write up of the S_D suspension over on F_W, I suspect some of those people have been holding grudges against me from 2005, some of those people don't like how I conducted myself on scans_daily and/or butted heads with me there, for some it's a combination of both. For the rest, I dunno.

Yeah, I dunno any of the people involved. Grudgewank is just very obvious when it happens. It seems to me you accept responsibility for your part in things that went down, in the past, and now. So IMO, everyone else can take a lesson from your example.

I also have to admit, that an able bodied white man, talking about triggers and having anonymous groups talk about how evil it is to trigger able bodied white men - do. not. get. my, sympathy.

HAHA! I'm freshly home from a grueling MRI and utterly loopy on sedation, and I just saw this comment and am now laughing. Rueful laughing, but laughing nonetheless.

My disgust with his racefail knows NO fucking bounds at this point, Willow. I fear that I've been terribly naive, because even though wiser people than I have pointed out a few dubious things about his real life persona over the years, I never saw the enormity of his fail when it comes to racism. I was literally shaking after I read his post about Obama and "black racism."

(And now that I've seen the screencaps of the entire comment threads in the fateful S_D post, and seen his wank that happened in those threads about feminist issues after I backed away from the post, holy SHIT.)
