This quarter, I'm taking a Health Services Administration class at Eastern Washington University. Our instructor advised us in the first class that she'd like us to participate in a humanitarian project.
We are associating ourselves with Nothing But Nets, a UN Foundation dedicated to helping prevent malaria across Africa. Our group called Net Work, comprised of myself and two others, Clint Roberts and Dave Kettelson, are going to concentrate our fundraising efforts through the power of networking: Facebook, Linked In, professional organizations, et cetera. We want to see how quickly we can raise funds, as our last class is December 8, and how far we can influence. I would ask you to forward this message to your friends and professional contacts, to provide them an opportunity to save a life, and ask them to continue to forward this message in a personal manner, so it does not become spam. Our mission is to make a difference, not fill people's inboxes with messages they never read.
If you choose to donate, we'd like to track the impact our message is having, so if you would shoot me an email with your geographic location and donation amount, to ewunetwork.fall09@gmail.com I would greatly appreciate it.
Nothing But Nets tells us that millions of people die each year from malaria - but there's a simple, life-saving solution: all it takes is $10 to buy a bed net, distribute it to a family, and explain its use. I bought a net and I'm asking you to do the same.
Regardless of whether you do or not, please pass our webpage and fundraising effort on to others that they might make the choice to save a life themselves.
You can make a secure online donation. Click on the link below to help prevent malaria:
