Out of the darkness

The solstice is passed and people have celebrated the birth of jesus. I was thinking of how christmas is sort of like presidents day. Supposedly it's about somebody's birthday (a couple presidents or jesus), but it's not actually celebrated on their real birthday. It's moved around to make it more politically/socially useful.

I got a digital camera as hoped for from my family. It's pretty sweet. Hopefully I'll make good use of it and put the results up online somewhere. Expect photos of.. stuff.

When I was taking the bus home from the other home today I was wondering what sorts of reroutes and schedule changes might take place once the light rail is completed to the airport. Maybe there'll be something from sumner/auburn heading up the the airport, so you can switch over and catch the train the rest of the way up to seattle. That would be handy.

Then i got to thinking about what i'll be doing in 2009. That's still a ways away. Even when i think about doing some part-time schooling before grad school, i'd still be gone, and maybe even back by the time the trains start running. That's kinda sad in a way. Really makes it seem like they're going awfully slow.

After almost a month of anticipation, i've finally got the Dead Can Dance concert recording from the show i went to. Man, it's good stuff. Good recording, great songs, and really brings back the feel of being there. Plus the case is mighty pretty.
