So, i'm home. Or at least, i'm back in the states, staying at my parents house, as much as i can really call that home anymore. It's pretty strange being here, since there's almost nothing for me out here in buckley. I just have all my stuff here to pick up and take back up to seattle again, where i can get to real work starting this year. Until then, i'm stuck at the folks', fiddling stuff around in their boxes, washing my clothes, and listening to music, since i can't really unpack as i'll be moving any day now.
On the other hand, i went to bumbershoot yesterday with
jon, and had a blast. We took the train up to seattle early, and walked around the u-district, while we waited for bumbershoot to really get started. I saw all the restaurants i'll be returning soon to, and then walked past the old Nerd Haus, and on to where i thought i might be living next year. Talking with mitchell, however, i was completely off, so tomorrow i'm heading up to meet him and see what's what. I'm still not 100% on living with mitchell and jamie, but i don't have many other options, and i think we should be able to come up with something to keep our collective senses. Vi ska se.
So, after walking around there, we continued on and happened upon alex and ashby's place. Never been there before, but we made it in, and talked with those kids for a while. Had never hung out with them so much, but they're really good people, must do so more often this year. From there, we followed their directions to the punkin' house and met
benji and talked with him for a while. That's one of the things i've appreciated most since getting back. All the good folks i have here to hang out with. Of course i had plenty of great people in stockholm, but the atmosphere was different most of the time, and it's been so long since i've seen my seattle folks.
So, this weekend, it's more bumbershoot, and getting ready to move up to seattle. Wonder when i'll be able to pull that off, actually, since i don't have no car available to me. Gotta wait till my b-day to get insurance at a quarter the price it would be if i got it now. I'm willing to wait 2 months to save $400, but it's awfully inconvenient in the meantime.
Back now, my parents just got back from picking up my dad's turntable in seattle. In the mail today came my U-Pass. That'll help the getting around bit. Hurray for busses.
