I'm babysitting for my brother today. About every 10 seconds or so I
can hear my nephew David saying, "Carolaaaannnne!" in an exasperated
tone (Carolanne is his little sister). It's very funny to hear,
especially when David goes off to annoy my youngest brother Martin who
can then be heard saying, in exactly the same tone, "Daviiiiddd!" Ah,
the circle of life. :-p
My mother has become obsessed with job-hunting, for me that is. She
called me from work a couple of hours ago and whispered down the phone
(I had an image of her hiding under a desk throughout the conversation)
to check out a particular job website as there was a "perfect" job for
me to apply to. I went to the site and checked it out... maybe it would
have been a perfect job for me if I had two years experience with C++,
but unfortunately, I don't. In fact, to be entirely honest, I had a
bash at C for a course I did last semester and myself and my fellow
stats classmates who took the course (there were four of us) were so
appallingly bad at using C, despite a couple of private programming
classes with the course instructor, that we didn't have to hand in any
of the programming classwork - we just got full credit for the exam
rather than a split between classwork and the exam. So yeah, I'm
thinking applying for a job where they want C++ experience is probably not a good idea!
