This could be my last LJ post

So, I was reading about the authoritarian journal purge on CNET and realised that way back when, I made a post about how I didn't want to watch the version of the movie Lolita with Melanie Griffith, because I didn't really think she looked enough like a 12 year old (or whatever age Lolita was in the book, it has been ages since I read the book). I have also made a few posts in reference to some of what I went through as a child. From the reasonings behind some of the other deletions, I could see these as being worthy of deletion, by the rather broad category used by LJ and this "watchdog" group. So, if I disappear suddenly, that's why!

Seriously, most of what I posted was friends only, so I doubt that the watchdog group will even have access to it, but I'm still rolling my eyes at some of the communities and individual blogs which have been deleted.

On a completely different note, I watched some of the Monica Goodling thing on television tonight. I was sitting through it and thinking, holy shit, somebody gave her not only a college degree, but a J.D. too? Then I found out that it was Messiah College and Regent University Law School. A missionary training school and a law school set up by Pat Robertson, which has one of the lowest graduation rates and lowest bar pass rates in the country (the lowest in the state of Virginia, over 20% less than the average pass rate).

So, Goodling doesn't understand basic legal principles, but she's an evangelical Christian, and after all, isn't membership of this religion the primary qualification for U.S. Department of Justice positions? I mean, seriously, why would somebody in the DoJ need to come from a decent law school, it's not like they would ever use any of that stuff, but to hire somebody who isn't horribly offended by the statue of justice like the boss was would be unthinkable.
