Going back to Malaysia has always been a routine during Chinese New Year. I used to be really enthusiastic when I was still an innocent young chubby girl who knew nuts about nuts. I had my cousins of the same age group as me and my siblings around to play sparklers and other dangerous firecrackers to burn our feet with when they weren't banned yet. However, with each passing year, the crowd in the house got lesser with my uncles occupied with their own families, losing contact with some relatives either due to death or simply because of dispute, my cousins getting more detached from my grandparents' home and even their own. Hah, I didn't even talked more than 10 sentences with my cousins, and off they vrooooooomed off with their motorbikes to their next destination where their friends are waiting.
Everybody's growing up... and growing old.
No Internet there. And even if there is, the speed kills. So no Luffy with me, but Sogeking. An opportunity not only to play around with my camera, but also to capture my paternal's family. So yeah.. Photo spammage ahead. My younger cousins are simply adorable and they are such great models for my photosession. Heh, my 2 uncles followed my dad to name their kids "Zheng" or "Zhen". So our house is flooded with lotsa Zheng/Zhen. Don't play play ah. Coincidentally, 3 of my younger cousins have YZY as their initials.
Along the highway to Ipoh.
5 Lawan Kuda!!
Ah Long made a visit.
My eldest uncle. He was telling me how Ah Long got this typical look.. So yeah, a shooting chance XD
Years ago, he used to grow this huge bush on his face which terrified a lot of people. Unfortunately, I was one of the victims. You know how some childish men likes to hold little children's hands and give a good sanding with their beard/moustach... yeah.. as if little children's skin aren't smooth enough. Well, that was the case for me. Once, he made a house visit when my parents were out and only my tenant was at home. My tenant didn't dare to open the door. Hoho.. He looks so much younger with that bush chopped off.
Small Ah Long. Just when I was in the midst of photosession with Ah Long, my cousin stomped out of the house in anger ^_^;;
4th uncle. One of the uncles that followed the naming trend XD
My sexy dad.
Looks kinda wrong to capture him with that balloon. NAHAHAHAHA! His expression and the balloon is of 2 different worlds. Ok, I promise next one is decent and sexier.
Sexier.
My Chow Yun Fatt.
Sexiest.
You'll see that my thick eyebrows and long eyelashes are inherited from my paternal family.
Ah Long sensed danger aka my dad's sexy aura.
The winner's pose.
My youngest cousin. He's actually an uncle at his age XD
The kid in the next picture is his nephew.
You can see who's reluctant.
Interview with Jet Li.
My cousin. You would be dead jealous of his eyelashes. It's unfair how he has longer eyelashes than girls.
Wrestling with his mum.
I want to learn how to ride a motorbike...
... So I can ram the bastards on my right..
... And bite those on my left.
(HAHAHAH! The atmosphere in the background is contradicting my ferociousness.)
This one's better.
Some brotherly love~
They are such lovely models <3
Some shots of our graffiti featuring my grandpa and my uncles XD
Big neh nehs and what's nots.
My grandpa. I labelled him as 老-hero secretly. He's damn fit for his age.. Can you believe he's approaching 80? I bet he's quite a heartthrob back in his younger days.
His eyebrows were the trigger of the joke about eyebrows/eyelashes breaking our fall if we ever tripped.
Ah Long connecting with the world.
Orchid ah!!! My dad planted it decades ago.
Lazing around during the late evening.
My grandma can come up with such sexy pose. I bet she's quite a heartthrob XD
I realized she has this very typical old people's features as illustrated in cartoons.
My grandma admiring my grandpa's muscles.
He has got this naughty look..
Mischief that's comparable with my brother's...
But still an angel~
Following the footsteps of his brother..
Displaying intense cuteness.
And to sum up my trip: last minute phototaking on a motorbike before I head back for Singapore...
W00t~! Sunset!
This is what I call MOUNTAINS.
And then ending shots with my sis. Woohoo~
This isn't us.
This is who we are.
Oh yeah, my grandma taught me how to do threading. I didn't manage to full master it, but roughly know how it works. It hurts definitely, but it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. Perhaps I was already mentally prepared for it after hearing so many responses on how much it hurts and so on. Or perhaps I'm set for it if my face can become much smoother and a better surface to apply foundation on. Nahahahah~ No pain no gain, yo.
And before I stepped into the car, my grandpa said, "婷啊,明年如果你想吃什么,就打电话告诉我啊~ 爷爷就买给你吃…… 煮给你吃……"
My grandpa is indeed a heartthrob.
V ^_^
I need to visit them as often as possible, and not just once a year. Not for the food lah, though it's great XD
