Another attempt. This time round not with manga scanlations but something I sketched.
EHHHHHH!!! I'm not trying to draw Orochimaru at all. I don't why... It just ended up like that. Might be my hidden fetish towards him for all I know.
Anyway, no character reference this time round. Referred to a few online tutorials for colouring tips. All I wanted to focus on initially was just eyes that were breeding insanity. Off I strayed and ended up with blood splats again. I like guys in Kimono (eh.. is it called Kimono for guys?)... Or rather towards the reason that it's easier to draw XD. Did quite a lot of editing to the hands. I'm still not at all good with them. Regarding the licking.. I didn't have it in my mind initially too. The idea dawned upon me after I wanted to do some blood splats. Thought I wanted him to lick some of the blood off. T_T But err... Not a job well done with the blood. It looks too dry or something.
I actually wanted to have some flying greenish/bluish orbs. But I don't know how to go about painting the greenish/bluish light cast on the character's face. Not much idea for the background... So there you have it. By the way, I didn't use any smudge tool except for the background. A small achievement made here. But eh... I think I really relied too much on smudge previously. I find that I kept reminding myself that I shouldn't ask the smudge tool for help.
I don't know when can I find the determination to do a better piece of original work. Really wonder how those people do their digital work so well and how much they practise to achieve that.
Maybe I should be a little less ambitious and go back to manga scanlations first. Still gotta work on fabric folds.
