My Year In 2010
Yup, I pinched this off Dan, cos I actually like these things...
1. What did you do in 2010 that you'd never done before?
Slid down a hill on a cardboard box, got a speeding ticket for more than 10km over, played croquet, drunk sangria.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I made a resolution ages ago not to wait til New Year to make a resolution, and I keep it every year :)
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Sasha's in hospital now with birth complications, my brother had another, Shady popped his out, prob others Ive forgotten.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Always.
5. What countries did you visit?
No new ones.
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
A house of my own.
7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
17th September, my 30th Birthday. Epic weekend was epic!
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Recovering my sanity. That probably doesnt give credit to how scary 2009 really was.
9. What was your biggest failure?
The many, many wonderful people whose potential contribution to my life was never realised, because I needed my space.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Couple of new scars, fractured/dislocated my pinkie toe
11. What was the best thing you bought?
A bottle of Hornitos Tequila... that stuff rocks my world XD
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Sasha, who deals with more doubt and struggle than most people I know. Also Trishu - same reasons, similar situation.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The many thieves, muggers, delinquents, bad drivers, crack junkies and alcoholics Ive had the displeasure of crossing swords with this year. Also James, who really did break new ground in being a filthy git.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Booze, pharmaceuticals.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My 30th, and the fact that people came from far and wide to participate. The fact that my business has thrived in the current economy.
16. What song will always remind you of 2010?

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or hardened?: Harder.
ii. thinner or fatter?: Thinner, but heavier. Go figure.
iii. richer or poorer?: Richer, in cash, and friends, and brain meats.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Relaxed
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Out at the Family Farm, with said family. Ew gross.
22. Did you fall in love in 2010?
Mostly with myself. I havnt seen me in a while, Im not so bad...
23. How many one-night stands?
A few.
24. What was your favorite TV program?

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Yeah, but I wont expend energy actually doing any hating.
26. What was the best book/fanfic you read?
A wonderfully entertaining piece of furry erotica fanfic. The gist was a couple of cat people breaking into a secure facility and getting turned on by each others tight suits and fuzzy ears etc... they ended up rooting in a closet and failing their mission. I laughed til I cried...
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Their live performance is an experience. Midnight Youth, same reason...
28. What did you want and get?
An appreciation of what Ive been missing out on all these years, and the opportunity to make up for lost time.
29. What did you want and not get?
My commuter jetpack
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I only saw Expendables and Wolfman. I preferred The Wolfman.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 30, and I was breaking new ground in the field of weekend benders. Im not sure if I can ever top that one as a personal best...
32. Whats one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Better health, and fewer loose ends.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Jeans singlet beanie.
34. What kept you sane?
Willpower, and a general lack of responsibility.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I did discuss stalking the bassist from Pendulum with a friend of mine, but that was in a more logistical capacity.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The tax changes, which benefited me greatly, and by extension all the struggling people I dont mind lending a hand to.
Wikileaks left me unmoved, other than to chuckle at the public unfolding of issues that I explored for myself nearly a decade ago.

Rachel, Dan, Andy, Mark, Sabi, Ruth, Wayne, Bob
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Sammy, who is possibly girlfriend material. Iben, who makes my work environment a pleasure.

'Never look back... the past is a wilderness of horrors'. An oft-quoted line from The Wolfman that pretty much sums up 2010 for me.
