Merry Christmas one and all. Also, to my readers in the city of Natal in Brazil: Happy 407th anniversary of the founding of your city!
As you may know, my family doesn't really make a big deal out of Christmas for reasons. Nevertheless, it's been a decent day. No prezzies (or prossies) to open this morning, but a really good family meal and a lot of rather good wine has made this day better than most. I've also booked a flight to Sweden to see Mia and Mouse for kinky threesomes (I'm sure they'll agree to this once I'm there).
I'm feeling fairly melancholy right now, though. This is largely due to the fact that I've hardly slept in the last three days and I'm currently operating entirely on adrenalin and alcohol. This typically doesn't help my mood. I suspect there's also the notion that today was supposed to be something special, and I once again treated it as a normal day with better food and worse telly. Most people I meet either really love or really hate Christmas - my family is one of the few who feel almost totally neutral about it.
Ah, blah blah blah, whatever. Things are ok, the people I care about are mostly doing good and I had a ridiculously nice steak. There will be an update in the next few days which may go into more detail about my recent exploits as well as offering my year-end summary and explaining exactly why I haven't slept lately.
Try and contain your excitement.
