I GOT INTO FREDONIA!!!!!!!
I'm a little late with this news, (I heard on Saturday) but that's forgivable because on Saturday I worked 10 and a half hours at Orchestra Hall then a show at Pillsbury House, running on 3 hours of sleep and some Awake tea. I swear that stuff is the miracle drink- it's got more caffine than coffee (depending on how strong you brew it, of course. I brew it very, very black.) and tastes better. It also clears your throat rather than clogging it up like coffee, so it's good to drink before choir rehearsal. But, anyway...then I went to a movie with Rosie, Sarah, and Sadie late and we went to Perkins afterward, so I didn't get to sleep until 2 once again, then had to wake up earlier than usual because we played/sang in church so we started bell choir rehearsal early and then I went to Orchestra Hall again right away after church for work, so I didn't get home until 5, then tried hard to get something done before falling asleep at 7:30. Then I slept until 10:30 this morning. A full 15 hours of sleep. But man did I deserve it!
Anyway, Fredonia! Yay! Now all that's left is getting scholarships and the program audition. And even if I don't get into the program (which I hope I will!), I can take a pre-music major that will let me take classes and audition again when I'm ready. I'm soooooooo excited!! I spent part of yesterday looking at the website, at the residence halls, food, etc. I think I'll be very comfortable there. And it made me very happy to hit the "Accepted Students" link on the website!
Judy wasn't at church, so I haven't told her the news yet, but I'll see her tomorrow. And everyone else was really excited for me. Ingrid wouldn't stop smiling and hugging me, and Rosalie was happy to hear that I was going out there. Turns out she knew someone who either went there or is going there or something on harp. I was telling her about it and she said "Fredonia? Up in New York? The one with the great music school?" Yay!
Other news: my hair is now really pretty! Rosie helped my dye it purple with pink highlights, though in low lighting it looks dark red. But it's so pretty! And pink! We dyed everyone's hair Friday night: Rosie's is auburn with hot pink highlights, Sarah's is brownish-blonde with pink highlights, and Rachel's is black with hot pink roots. Her's was the hardest to do, even though the pink part was really easy. See, she dyed her hair black a while ago with really cheap dye, so when we tried to dye it brown, all that happened was the roots changed color. So we tried dying her part pink to make it look intentional, and that worked so well that we just took what was left of the pink dye and did all her roots. But she took three different dye jobs to finally come out right.
Now off to clean my room and practice! MUST PRACTICE!!!!
