furniture be gone!

Feb 19, 2007 17:21

Hmm. Well, I haven't done much on the packing front today, but I have gone around taking pictures of and posting want ads for the furniture I want to get rid of. Hopefully I'll get some nibbles. If anyone knows of anyone who might want and be willing to drive to Frederick to pick up any of these items, please feel free to give them that link ( Read more... )

Nice couch - though these days, Frederick is a little too far away for me.

Well, if all goes well, then it should be picked up today. I've gotten a lot of responses, which is great! :)

I used to live in Frederick (for many years just outside of Braddock Heights and then, years latter onMarket St.). Every now and then, I miss it.

And judging by your friends list, looks like we share a common friend.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. :) (Though thus far he doesn't seem to read LJ that often.) Ed and I both went to UMBC and then BGSU.

I saw that you lived in Oklahoma -- whereabouts? I lived in Norman for 10 years before moving to Maryland. I graduated from Walkersville High but ended up back here off of McCain about five years ago when my job was down 270. Figured commuting from Baltimore at that point was a little silly.

I lived in Norman for about a year. A mile away from campus. My apartment was on Apple Road, I believe (it's been over 12 years, so my memory is a little hazy) but I was right by a taco bell and a pigglie wigglies (or other some such big chain grocery story). I used to by my comics at Planet Comics, and I dated a girl who also lived in Norman, went to OU, and lived in Walker Tower.

I grew up with Ed's old roomie at UMBC, Kris Weaver, and Ed and I became fast friends. (In fact, I saw Ed yesterday for lunch here in the Big Apple). I used to trek up to UMBC all the time when I was at Hood College.

I knew some people from Walkerville, but most of my peeps were at Frederick High or TJ. And none of them told me about that big fire that Frederick had a couple of days ago - the bastards.

I'm suprised our paths haven't crossed before either in Frederick, at UMBC, or whatever.

I didn't know Ed very well while we attended UMBC. We had senior seminar together right before graduating and that was it. We got to know each other at BGSU and then realized all the common connections we'd had at UMBC without connecting ourselves (he knew my roommate, I knew several of his friends...). We still find them sometimes out of the blue. It's very silly. Your name sounds vaguely familiar to me, so even if we haven't met it may have come up in conversation (oh, and my real name's Lianne). I've been around his family a fair bit.

I left Norman in 1989 aside from a couple of summers back with my dad, so I don't have a clue where Apple Road is, but my dad taught at OU in the civil engineering department and we lived off of McGee (or Lake McGee every time it rained). I'll be passing through next month, though, as I drive out to California. I won't get to stop for long, but it'll be nice to see a few things briefly.

And, um, err, Frederick had a fire? Missed that.

First of all, considered yourself friened.

Secondly, Frederick's fire: http://news.findlaw.com/ap/o/632/02-20-2007/82270007c519cea7.html

Thirdly, when I see Ed this weekend, I'm sure he will jog my foggy memory and remind me if we have met or not.

Lastly, have a safe trip. Sunny Cali cure beats Frederick!

I'm trying to remember where Antietam Village Center is... *finds a map* Okay, that's a rough estimate, anyway, and an area I rarely go to. I don't tend to read the local news, so that's undoubtedly why I missed it. Huh. Weird scenario.

And yes, I am very much looking forward to getting to California. For one, I've been in limbo between coasts for months now and I would really like that resolved, but it most definitely beats Frederick. =) I just have to get there! Argh! (That's something that's been messed up several times now.)

You're friended back, but fair warning: I post a lot.
