Fish Shop

One of the things I will miss about Hawaii is the fish market. I went in to pick up some things today, and remembered just how much I love that place. Not only to do they have wonderful fish from all over the world, but they buy from local fisherman too. While I was there today a guy brought in a opah that must have weighed 200 pounds, which they promptly hung and started to butcher. Today they also had live silver dollar abalone, fresh opi'i, pipiwai, and live frogs. I was almost tempted to by the frogs, because a)I love frogs legs, and b)I have never cooked with live frogs before. All this is in addition to the regular line up of fish, crabs, lobsters, shellfish, poke, fresh produce, fresh seaweeds and eggs (chicken, duck, quail, you name it). I am going to miss it when I'm gone.
