Wow. Been so long since I updated this that I had to go back to see what I'd written last time...back in December. O.o
My life revolves around my job. I'm off to work at 7am, don't get home most nights until at least 5:30pm, often more like 6 or 6:30. This was supposed to change this week or next week...and yeah, you can probably tell from my tone that it's not going to. They were SUPPOSED to hire two new people by the end of next week; they fired two people instead, about 6 weeks ago. They've hired a replacement for one of the two they've fired, but beyond that, I haven't seen a single sign of them hiring a replacement for the other position, let alone the two new positions they are supposedly hiring. *annoyed*
We have 21 employees in the company. One is working on reeling in another new contract; one is HR/Accounts Payable; three of us are Customer Support. The other 16 people...are working on the new contract we got a month ago, the site supposed to launch on Tuesday of next week. Which means that Stan and I, being the only people in the office with any technical experience that are NOT working on the new site have zero resources for anything that we don't already know how to do. Hence the uber-long hours at work.
I haven't been to martial arts in 6 months. I'm 80 pounds overweight. There's a 60% chance that I have endometriosis and will have to have a laparoscopy within the next six months. Annnnd...yeah, that's most of the bitching out of the way now. :-)
I still enjoy my job, really, although it's been very frustrating and annoying lately. We've got the summer party coming up--tubing, horseback riding, paint ball, and only Steve and Tanya know what else. Looking forward to that. I hope the weather's nicer than it's been the last week. I mean...65 degrees for a high in JULY?!?! Seriously. Crazy. I love the thunderstorms every day, that's fantabulous, but 65 is a bit cold for this time of year.
Lessee...December would have been before the new addition to my family. :D
This is my kitten, named Squeak. This picture was taken when she was about 10 weeks old. She is now almost 9 months old. She is already as big as your average tomcat--a.k.a. Maine Coon half-breed. Wow. I managed five sentences about her without going all baby-speak about her. hehe *wanders off for a bit to snuggle Squeakers and get the baby-speak cooing out of her system*
My roommate and I are, for the most part, getting along better with regards to the food issue. We don't make much with leftovers any more...but we also don't have a lot of food in the fridge. We eat out a lot. Healthfully, I'll have you know! I am losing weight, although I put on too much after I had to drop martial arts due to late hours at work. Definitely got to lose a bunch, particularly if I have to have surgery later this year or early next.
I spent four terrifying days at a family reunion this summer. Scary. I didn't realize how much I missed NOT FLAT land until I crested a 500-foot downhill stretch in Colorado on the way to said family reunion. And MOUNTAINS! OMG. Mountains. Snow on mountains. Narrow, winding roads along rapid-filled rivers. Yay! My 12-day vacation, however, didn't feel much like vacation. :-( Too much family, too much doing, four days of the twelve spent driving, not enough relaxing.
So now I'm looking for vacation ideas for Thanksgiving/Christmas. I'm thinking California. Or Alaska. An Alaskan cruise sounds really good, and relaxing. Even in winter. Any kind of a cruise sounds good. Don't know if I can afford it this year, but...I'm going to price check.
So...yeah. That pretty much covers everything. People should call me or IM me if they want me to know stuff. You know...like pregnancies, and important things like that (not naming any names here). Time to curl up with N.C.I.S. and Squeakers. Oh, and whatever you do...no one ask me about Cody.
