My dad enjoys biking. A lot. Like, he gets sad if he doesn't get a least one bike run a week, probably two. It's his moment of enjoyment, and that's awesome. So I figured I'd join him today on his spare bike, get out of the house, ya?

Yeah...couple minor things wrong with this scenario:

a) I haven't ridden a bike in years, and never done so on a trail.

b) Dad's spare bike is a road bike, with the curved handles and the brakes way out front. I hate this kind of handle because I can barely reach the brakes while still being able to look up.

c) Dad rides fast.

And most importantly, d) sharp turns should never be placed at the bottom of steep hills.

Yeah, crashed it pretty good about a half mile from the start. Broke the helmet (thank God for wearing 'em!), tore up a nice shirt, and oh yeah, banged up my whole right side. Big ol' scratch down my back, but that's not the bad part.

Oh no, my leg hurts. Like, REALLY REALLY OH MY GOD hurts. I had to limp back to the car with the bike, and I tell ya, worst half mile of my life. Getting up, sitting down, walking, standing, no matter what, it hurts. Funny thing is it ain't bruised, no marks on it or anything. I'm pretty sure nothing's broken, cause the pain's not really close to the bone (don't think). But dear lord it hurts...

Not exactly looking forward to church tomorrow...as much as I like the one Dad goes to, I don't really wanna be limping around the whole time. Or, y'know, shifting position and quietly swearing to myself, kinda frowned on. But whatever.

So yeah. Always wear helmets, kids. They're awesome.
