Awkward and dated Fergie reference aside this is what I've been doing. Last summer Meg and I got on a workout kick and I managed to get down to a weight I haven't seen...well since I passed it on the way back up the Richter scale. I dropped a clothing size and got some nice tone going. Unfortunately, our streak was ruined by other obligations; traveling and shooting competitions in my case and in Meg's it was bar review followed by actually taking the bar. It's funny how much effort it takes to get weight off and just how little it takes to put it right back on.
Fast forward a couple of months and I'd been looking for a way to get back into working out without resorting right back to the treadmill. Enter Krav Maga. Jenn and I have been taking Krav classes twice a week now for about a month and I am absolutely loving it. It truly kicks our asses while simultaneously giving us an outlet to kick each others asses. Krav has turned into a sanctioned forum to beat on my sister and vice versa. We have since asked ourselves why we didn't start sooner. Last week I got a good shot to her cheek and she got me in the eye...twice. Tonight she punched me in the face (again) and I managed to get a solid blow to her shoulder. And as an added bonus to all this sisterly love we're also learning self defense. Which admittedly was the original intention behind this endeavor. Also of note; while I don't normally use makeup on a daily basis, my concealer is now getting used to hide the bruises from class when I wear skirts to work.
Somehow I don't think that's how Mary Kay envisioned their products being utilized.
Then again, maybe it is.
