Weekend
richard_kaczyn is off in LA for Advanced Initiator Training, so I had the weekend without him. Last night, after the lovely snow, I went out with my former co-worker cmwriter and her friends for her B-day and some karaoke. We had fun and were out from 9pm until 2am. I sang All That Jazz and I've Never Been to Me which met with hysterical laughter because the song is sooooo sappy, yet I sang it well with a straight face (particularly the part about unborn children). Piano Man didn't work out so well - too low for my voice.
I spent the night at cmwriter's place after she lured me with kitty time. Blitzen and Patches are soft, furry puff balls. cmwriter collects sharks and had a stuffed animal great white on the bed. I awoke in the night with a fluffy kitty snuggled against the shark, watching me.
After breakfast with cmwriter, I went to the Lodge for build out. The fella from the African Dance Village downstairs let me in. I arrived to find sjo, chaosmic and srprs measuring for walls and floor in the Lodge's bathroom. sjo and I went on a fabulous errand to Home Depot and got drywall and a couple sheets of tongue and groove sub-flooring. It took some maneuvering for us to get it into the van, then we drove with the back open over to the Lodge. We arrived to find a bathroom wall built. I went and organized the shelving unit donated by Br. C, while sjo and srprs put in the subfloor. Now the Lodge has its own bathroom really taking shape. I got the back area cleared out for our future sitting area.
It's exciting to see it all take shape.
The best is that sweetie is home tomorrow.
