Con.txt and meeting people
Con.txt was such fun this past weekend. It's such a shame to be back home in the mundane world. And so busy catching up with RL.
But I got to go. I had loads of fun. I met lots of people. I'm just like most folks whose con reports I've read and I don't remember half the names of folks, but I had a blast talking to folks.
Best new in-person buddies: I met Dorothy1901 from KF:TLC fandom. First time I've gotten to talk Fu in person! We'd planned to meet and she found me (thanks lady). Also found we have lots of fandom stuff in common. And she showed me a bit more about this mysterious thing called livejournal. I need to rewatch KF. And watch more SGA and, hmmm, about 6 other things. She also sent me the url to some good HL vids I hadn't seen before. Yum.
After lots of years, I met J.S. Cavalcante whom I knew in K/S. She and her cohort tried pimping me into Dur South. Too late - I already read it. Don't write it and need to rewatch episodes (so much homework I have from this con). She's got gorgeous artwork. I look forward to seeing again as she posts. Also have to go look for her DS. I adore her K/S; I will read anythign she has written.
To the women I talked Torchwood to in the bathroom. Yeah! Fun. What is it about the bathroom as con.txt. I always seem to meet folks there and get good info. I wish I'd gotten names of the folks I talked to, but I did get some suggestions for authors and TW groups on lj. Turned out I had joine one of them, but so recently that I hadn't really read it yet. Frieded some authors, too. Will be reading much fic asap.
