So he is real? What does he look like?

As you would imagine him. Red suit, grotesque physique, long white beard. Ah and I was so close. I guess I scared him away.

He must be a fairly weak-hearted man to be scared easily.

He must value his facial hair a lot. It was around nine years old. He never visited me again. A shame.

Nine years isn't really that long. Maybe his beard is where his powers come from.

The beard? What makes you say that.

It's only a guess but it's a good guess.

It does make sense to a point, if he is so over-protected of his beard. Maybe he just likes having facial hair and didn't appreciate a little nine year old trying to snip it away.

That's too complicated. The easiest choice is always the right one.

Occam's razor. A classic law of reasoning.

But why is not valuing facial hair just as simple? Creating an Imaginary Power X originating from his beard sounds more complicated.

I don't know anyone with a beard so there's no reason to have one unless it gives them powers.

[this makes sense to her okay]

"All men with beards have magic powers; therefore anyone without a beard has no magic powers." You're now using Hempel's Ravens.

I have no beard, yet I have magic powers.

Girls don't grow beards. I don't have one either.

What about men without beards, but have magic powers?

I'm fairly sure that isn't possible.

[don't make a bet on that remilia]

However, the very fact that I have no beard and have magic powers means that your theory is wrong. It doesn't matter whether I can grow one or not.
