If you were given one wish in the entire world, what would you ask for? Would you be willing to give something...or even everything up for it?

[This question doesn't have much reason or rhyme to it, other than pure curiosity. All creatures are so unique with what they want and since Luceti has such a diverse mix of humans, demons and other beings ( Read more... )

[There's the sound of somebody starting a sentence a couple times-

Then a pause. Then, softly:] I...I would wish for a certain person to be happy.

...and I would give up anything for it.

A certain person. [Oh no no no, let Bern have a guess-] Do you love this person?

[SQUEAK]

U-Um- [The lack of definite answer probably works even better than a plain "yes."]

[Bern giggles a little. Oh humans.] Do not think anything of it. Those who wish for someone in particular to be happy normally hold great love for that person. Whether it be simplistic or deeply entangled.

[Oh man, why does Bern find this girl's bumbling amusing.]

Relax. Your love for this person doesn't concern me, right? So just take a couple breaths. I wouldn't want to exhausting yourself into submission.

I...I'm all right. [She makes a sport out of bumbling like an idiot, really.]

...u-um, may I...may I ask why you want to know? Or...or just making conversation?

I was just curious what one would desire. Many would go to the ends of the world in order to be granted their greatest wish. Some would even give up everything they had, just for one thing.

What about dreams? Would those count? My...my dream is different, after all.

Well of course. For many beings making their dreams come true is ultimately their greatest wish. But my question for those people is "what next"? What happens after their dreams are fulfilled?

You live within it, I think.

...m-maybe it would get boring after a while, but I don't think so. Not if it's a true dream.

When all your wishes and dreams come true then you have nothing left to dream of. Nothing left to wish for. So what happens then. It sounds particularly empty to me to have everything I could ever want -- sometimes there needs to be a limit to how much power one can have after all.

Still, no human is satisfied with one wish or dream. So even after their first dream comes true, they'll surely want another dream and another wish.

Th-that's true...

But I don't think...I don't think all people have selfish wishes. Some people have dreams or wishes for the sake of other people.

To even ask for a wish to be granted, without any effort, sounds selfish enough to me.

...I guess you're right. [Not that Hinata agrees with you.]
