As our marvelous host

nudged us, the
Kakashi's Lyric Challenge entries are due in September 27th by midnight EST! I'm hoping that the reason it's been a little quiet around here is because you are ALL WORKING VERY DILIGENTLY ON YOUR ENTRIES, RIGHT?!! <3 <3 <3

As if we have to remind you how awesome you all are, there is so much love for everyone in this community at
this post right here...because the featured member this month is ALL OF YOU LOVELIES!! I can't even tell you how much you all mean to me, personally, to be able to come home from a hard day and find you chatty chatters here. Not only are you all the most amazingly talented writers and artists, you are by far the most supportive online community in an internet world full of trolls and haters. I hope that Nims and I can continue to make this place a safe, drama-free place for you all to be yourselves, and where we can enjoy some Kakasaku as well. <3
Today's chat is about the power of a status update.
I had a somewhat emotionally taxing weekend, mostly because of things that deal with the internet and/or texting. Someone I know who was in a relationship was caught flirting with someone else via an incriminating text message! Someone else I know defriended someone she was dating on facebook and it caused an internet argument spanning 3 - 4 facebook walls!
I realized that these sort of things couldn't have even HAPPENED a decade ago. It's amazing to me how technology has brought us all within reach of each other so easily. I wouldn't know all of you without it! But it also amazes me how people abuse it and how many problems begin because of the miscommunication it causes--kinda backfires, yeah!?
So, how do you think technology has helped advance us? How does it cause problems? Have you ever been invovled in any kind of drama because of a misplaced text message or an accidental Skype session (this has happened to me), or a misleading facebook or LJ comment?? Do share!!
Because we can share. ON THE INTERNET.
